I love to play with paper and ran across a fun post from Brian King on how to use the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and cut it up to make more fun patterns. This Well Suited Designer Series Paper is just awesome, beautiful paper and perfect for masculine cards! Those can be hard to make! This paper is perfect for the men in your life! I love the beautiful rich colors! Since we didn’t get together for Dillon’s birthday yet, I kept playing with more fun cards last night and I just love how fun these turned out! The You Are Amazing Stamp set is a fun one! Perfect for birthday card and congratulations cards too.
This one tends to be my favorite but then it features those Stitched So Sweetly dies that I most days can’t seem to make a card without! I love them to say the least! Card base but 4 1/4″ x 11 and scored at 5 1/2″ then emboss a Night of Navy 4″ x 5 1/4″ with the 3D Subtle embossing folder. Basic with piece is cut to 3 1/8″ x 4 3/8″. See below how to cut the 1″ x 4 1/4″. Adhere the strips to the Basic White and then pop off the card with Stampin Dimensionals. I also the popped the Cajun Craze die cut up. Stick the stamped basic white image to the Cajun Craze using Stampin Seal. Add Gilded Gems with the Take Your Pick Tool. Take a strip of the DSP for the envelope flap too, cut a 2 3/4″ strip, using stampin seal cover edges of flap and then using the paper snips trim around the flap to make a festive card.
Cut 1″ strip off the side of the DSP paper then turn paper and cut 1″ strip off bottom of paper. See next picture and cut strips you need to make the cards. One for this card and I cut 2 for the other cards I will post here. Match of the stripes when sticking them down. You can also put them on a piece of Basic White and them trim them to edges to make a base and then pop with Dimensionals. Just play with the patterns and they will come to life on your card.
This one I used the Stitched Shapes for the ovals. Adhere the velum down with Stampin Seal and then pop the Basic White Stamped oval up with Dimensionals. This card I did put the strips on a Basic White base, trimmed up and then adhered the the Cazun Craze. Basic White base is 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4 and cut strips to 3 1/4″ in length. You have to match the patterns up in opposite directions so trimming is needed on the edges. The last edge strip was also cut down to fit on the Basic White base using the paper trimmer. Cazun Craze base is 4 5/8″ x 3 3/8″. A piece of basic white cut for insides of all cards. 4″ X 5 1/4″.
This on is a similar one to above just add Basic White under strip set 1/8 around and add a 1/4″ mat in Cajun Craze. All adhered using the Stampin Seal. Dimensionals used on the Stamped Oval to pop up. This was my first try and you can see I didn’t get the strips to match up very well. It is easy I was just not thinking on the first one, thus that is why there are 3! I love how these turned out and to see this paper at first, I was like this sheet is okay but when you cut it up and piece it makes for a fun pattern. So, just cut it up!
