Today was a just plain dreary day, and I think the winter blues are setting in. This card was just what I needed and I think so many could use something bright and cheerful. I encourage you to take a moment to reach out to someone, send a card or two, pick up the phone just send some cheer. This is the first day of lent, you could even try to send a card a day to someone as an act of kindness. 40 cards in 40 days, who is going to try this one? I think I just might challenge myself to 40 cards in 40 days, to spread some cheer! Give it a try, I know we all love to get happy mail and to know someone cares about you is a blessing.

This color combo is very fun together featuring Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay (yes, it is my color of the week) and Granny Apple Green. Add Basic Black and the color just pops off the card. The In Bloom Bundle is really fun, I am not normally a putter or little piece card maker but this set is super fun! I love the stitched effect on the die cuts. The detail is amazing. The possibilities are endless with the bundle! It features fun!

I used the Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder too for some background texture. .

Don’t forget the inside of your card. I added an extra die cut I had left over. I just cut a bunch of shapes and started layering. This flower was leftover so it landed inside the card. I love to bring the outside of a card inside. Added a strip of the DSP too. The black and white True Love designer series paper is beautiful and striking. Very fun to use, color in with the new blending brushes or add to cards. It is great paper!

Another fun look, taking the card up a bit is to add some Dotted Ribbon, and some rhinestones. I love to add bling and a bow to my cards. I struggle with simple and sometimes I need to tell myself less is more! I tucked the bow down in the flowers and attached it to the card with a mini glue dot. So which look do you like better? This one is going out to a dear friend with a note of cheer! I hope she likes it as much as I do!

Card base Basic White Thick cardstock- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ cut with trimmer and scored. Crease with bone folder. Cut 2 Bermuda Bay 4″ x 5 1/4″ and Basic Black 5″ x 3 3/4″ run the through cut emboss machine with Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder, Cut a Basic White 5″ x 3 3/4″ for inside card base.

Cut a strip of the stripe DSP 5″ x 3/4, I did cut it down to half inch inside the card. Mount the strip on the embossed Basic Black with Stampin Seal and then add that to the Bermuda Bay layer, you can either adhere that to the card base or use Stampin Dimensionals and pop it up. Either is fun and I did one each way.

Die cut your flowers, leaves and stems, along with the label in the Basic White. Stamp the label with a greeting in Melon Mambo ink. Place that on the card with Stampin Dimensionals. Begin laying out your flowers and adhering them to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. Add leaves and stems. Be sure to curl up the edges of the leaves and flowers with your fingers for some added dimension. I used mini Dimensionals on the vines. Add the bling and a bow if you choose. Remember to cut a 2 3/4″ strip for the back of the envelope and using multipurpose glue and stampin seal be sure to decorate the flap. Attach the Bermuday Bay piece, layered with the Basic White inside the card. Easy, very easy to make!
